Depending on the size of jobs we may take deposits to secure start dates, and to preorder materials.
One of the most important factors in any construction is timescale, as we all know it is very important, as time is money. We deal mainly with suppliers who we can rely on in terms of deliveries and quality. We like to take complete control of a project, so that way we are not relying on other people to meet our deadlines.
Materials are costly and most materials will require preordering in advance ready for the job start date. Deposits help out with the early stages of the job as most of the cost is in the first couple of days. Once the garden is at build stage it is very important you know what your having, and that you are happy with your choice of materials. If there are any issues with the materials they must be discussed at the earliest opportunity with either the garden designer or a member of the team constructing your garden. This is to ensure that your garden is completed with time and budget. If at any point you change your mind on items such as slabs, etc please note that this will incue additional costs. |

Once work has commenced on your garden, the sight may not appear pleasant, but as the construction continues it will of course develop into the garden of your dreams.
This picture shows the day when we started this job. It was damp, overcast and drizzling, the worst type of rain. If the weather conditions are not suitable, we will of course hold off until the weather settles, and return to the project the following day with close communication with you. At certain stages of the job this may happen, but we have deadlines to be achieved and start dates for other jobs, so we will endeavour to complete your garden at the earliest opportunity. The weather is only area we can not plan. It is important to note we do try |
 |
to give ourselves flexibility in the winter months to allow for weather conditions but it is no good just sitting at home waiting for a sunny day. As a customer you should understand we try to keep all jobs as clean and tidy as much as possible throughout constructing your garden so that it causes minimal disruption. |

Normally the first day is about organising the job, clearing away unwanted waste from the garden. This involves taking out old shrubs, patios, walling, old fencing, cutting back bushes and removing any old sheds or ponds. We are aiming to get it to a blank canvas. At this point we will stand back and mark the new garden using paint, string lines and pins as some gardens can be quite complex, and it is important we establish levels and areas.
The picture to the right shows that we have cleared the old flower beds, taken up old patio slabs and put up a new fence right the way up the right hand of the garden to create a blank canvas. This enables use to work within the boundaries of the new garden which will help use with the new levels. |

This is where the hard work begins, and garden starts looking a bit of a disaster zone, but don’t worry it will look exactly like the drawing when finished. The dig out is very important making sure the correct area has been dug out, in order to have good foundations for a quality finish. We never cheat when putting in foundations.
In this picture we are showing you the dig out phase with a string line running through the middle of the garden set at finished level. This string line is the datum for all our paths and it is important to work to this all the time.
It is in our best interest that we treat your garden like its our own, and that is exactly what we do. We want you to get the best out of your garden. |

This is the best stage of the job, seeing that all our hard work is paying off, Sometimes I feel people don’t understand how much work goes into building a new garden. Gardens are not built over night like in the television programmes, and certainly not if you want a garden to last. A great amount of the time is in preparation this is where we are dealing with levels, foundations, drainage, and all the messy work to ensure all the fundamentals are being achieve to enable a good solid job, and it all comes together very quickly.
